Ready Set Dance Mid-Year Show β Parent Guide
Mid-Year Show
Hello RSD Families! We are SO excited for our upcoming Mid-Year Display! Here's everything you need to know to help the day run smoothly, stress-free, and most importantly β FUN!
π Uniform
All students are required to wear their full Ready Set Dance uniform on the day. They can wear any of the following combinations:
- RSD Dress
- Black shorts or leggings and RSD t-shirt
- Unitard
RSD Tracksuits and Crossovers are also permitted to be worn on stage!
π Shoes
Please ensure your dancer has the correct shoes for their class style:
- RSD Level 2: Tap shoes & jazz shoes
- RSD Ballet: Ballet shoes
- RSD Acro: Bare feet
- RSD Level 1: Jazz shoes or clean-soled joggers
π§Ό Please check shoes are clean and labeled β no muddy sneakers on stage!
π Arrival & Departure
Upon arrival:
- All adults must sign in at the club entrance β please allow a few extra minutes.
- You'll then take your child straight ahead towards the new bar and seating area.
- BEFORE reaching the bar, look to the door on your right β this leads down the stairs to the indoor bowling green (for those who were there, this is where we held the presentation last year).
- The space will be surrounded with black curtains to create our own little backstage world!
π¨ Each child will be checked in to their grade's colour-coded area and given:
- A wristband (colour-coded by level)
- A matching tag (to be kept by the adult dropping them off)
π To collect your child, you'll need to return this tag β so please hold onto it! It doesn't have to be the same person picking up, but they MUST have the tag.
π Bags & Belongings
Keep it simple β one small bag per child, packed with:
- βοΈ Dance shoes
- βοΈ Water bottle (no juice or soft drinks, unless medically required)
- βοΈ A snack
- π« No toys or devices needed β we'll provide fun backstage activities!
π LABEL EVERYTHING: Shoes, clothes, bags, bottles β if it can be lost, it should be labeled!
πβοΈ Grooming
Let's keep it neat and tidy!
- Hair: Any style is fine, just keep it off the face. Only Ready Set Dance accessories/bows allowed.
- Makeup: None required β just big smiles!
π£ Special Note for Level 1 Students
We'd love to have our Level 1 dancers involved in the show β they'll perform the routines they already know from class! However, we understand that for some of our littlest performers, it may be a bit much. Here's how it will work:
- Please bring them to the side of the stage at 1:45 PM to mark them off.
- They'll then sit with you to enjoy the show!
- We'll give a heads-up 1 act before they perform, and there will be large walkways so they can get up to the stage easily.
π If you think your child would be comfortable backstage, that's okay too β but we expect most Level 1s will prefer staying with their grown-ups (and that's totally fine!).

π Final Note
This event is all about fun, building confidence, and celebrating your stars in a supportive environment. If your child is hesitant about something (shoes, uniforms, etc.), we'd rather they feel comfortable and happy than miss out. Just let us know, we're always here to help.
Each child will step out on stage to showcase each genre they do class for (ballet, acro, Tap and Jazz).
