Costumes

Approx. $65 per genre

  • We try to reuse costumes from previous years where possible.
  • The cost is approximate, as some routines' costumes can cost more than others depending on what we can source that is appropriate for the style, music and movement, and is available in all sizes. We do try to even it out with another genre for the same age group to keep it balanced.
  • Costumes will be invoiced from Week 2 of Term 4 and handed out the week of dress rehearsal once full payment is completed.
  • If a costume is over the amount and all avenues have been exhausted to find a suitable costume within budget, we will often use one costume (or part of it) for two dances.

Hair & Makeup

Levels 1–5

Hair: Low plait crossover. Simply put their hair in two low pigtails and plait, then cross them over (and over again if needed) and secure with pins. Please make sure it is slick and secure.

Makeup: Foundation, powder, blush, mascara and a red lip. You can choose to do more if you would like, including brows, liner and neutral eyeshadow.

We understand that some of our younger students are not comfortable in makeup and that's ok – just do what you both feel comfortable with. The reason for makeup is purely so we can see their beautiful smiles and expressions under the bright lights.

Level 6 – Seniors

Hair: Middle part, low to mid bun.

Makeup: Full coverage base, brows, liner, mascara, bronzer, blush and a bright red lip.

All Level 6, Intermediate and Senior students to wear lashes.

Remember: stage makeup is seen from a distance. It can look like a lot close up, but once the stage lights are on they cast shadows on the face and we don't want expressions to be drowned out.

Tickets

$35 per ticket

We will have ample staff to run backstage and dressing, so all parents will have the opportunity to watch the shows.

Tickets go on sale Thursday 19th November at 10:00am.
Tickets will be available to purchase on the PACC website. The link will be emailed out once it is made available.

Concert Costs

Concert Shirt – $30

To celebrate our upcoming concert, each student will receive a commemorative concert shirt to wear during the finale. The shirt is theirs to keep and can be worn as part of our studio uniform after the concert! It is also worn for our class photo on dress rehearsal day.

Concert Fee – $25

The concert fee contributes towards the costs associated with our dress rehearsal, including theatre hire and the time of teachers and staff required to support our students throughout the day. This fee will be invoiced and must be paid prior to the concert.

Please note that you are responsible for purchasing your own stockings and undergarments, and for making sure you have the correct shoes (see the Shoes and What to Wear sections above).

Making Memories Last

Concert USB – $55

We will have a videographer present to film our concert. USBs are available for pre-order via our website and will be ready to collect the week of Christmas – just in time to pop under the tree.

Pre-orders open 23rd November 2026.

Show Program

We take great pride in presenting a beautiful show book each year, which includes not only the running order of the show but our official 2026 class cast photos, many costumed group photos from dress rehearsal, and lots of memorable moments from throughout the year. It's always a treasured item for the students. Programs will be available at our shows and for pre-order – more details soon.

Presentation – Time to Celebrate

Tuesday 8th December · 5:00 – 7:00pm

Hunter Valley Sports and Social (ECBC)

We will congratulate all MJ's students, who will be presented with their medal of achievement for 2026 along with our class awards for each grade. Then we will move on to the presentation of our major Perpetual Awards.

Once all formalities are complete we will open up the dance floor for you to party the afternoon away. This is a time to celebrate our stars and is for the whole family – we hope you all can make it.

RSVP by 3rd December: please let us know how many of your family members will be attending by emailing admin@mjsdancestudio.com.

Let the Magic Happen

It's not just an "end of year concert".

It's the dedication, the friendships, the laughter, and the courage it takes to step on stage and share something they love. It's about bringing all of that together to create something truly special to share with their family and friends.

Every dancer has their own journey, their own strengths, and their own moments to shine. This show is a chance to be proud of the progress, embrace the nerves, and enjoy every second of the experience.

Be proud of how far your children have come, enjoy these moments, and watch them shine.
